To ensure greater market access for O-Next® and expand its impact across Europe, we have partnered with thyssenkrupp Schulte, a strategic distribution ally that shares our values and ambition for climate action. Together, we have signed a declaration of intent, represented by Mehmet Senkaya, Dirk Brors, and Markus Renner, to officially support the commercialization of O-Next® and bring it to forward-looking industrial players throughout the continent.
This partnership aims to accelerate the adoption of sustainable steel across Europe’s industrial landscape. With thyssenkrupp Schulte as a key distribution ally, O-Next® will now be accessible to a wider network of forward-thinking manufacturers and infrastructure leaders looking to align their operations with rigorous ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) standards.
At the core of this collaboration lies a shared ambition: to decarbonize the supply chain while delivering high-performance materials that meet the most demanding technical and environmental criteria. By integrating O-Next® into their product offering, thyssenkrupp Schulte strengthens its own sustainability agenda, having already achieved a reduction of more than 75,000 tonnes of CO₂ (Scope 1 and 2) in its operations, while helping its customers reduce their Scope 3 emissions through cleaner procurement choices.
A Greener way to manufacture Steel
Tubos Reunidos Group has long embraced a forward-looking approach to steelmaking. Departing from traditional blast furnace methods, the company now produces its steel tubes using electric arc furnaces (EAF), powered by cleaner sources of energy. This transition has enabled a drastic reduction in direct and indirect emissions (Scope 1 and Scope 2) and laid the foundation for a deeper transformation through the O-Next® program.
O-Next® represents a significant leap in carbon performance. By relying on renewable electricity and biogas, the production process achieves just 0.045 tonnes of CO₂ per tonne of steel for Scope 1 and 2 emissions. Even when including upstream Scope 3 emissions from raw material sourcing, the total remains remarkably low at 0.4 tonnes per tonne of steel, placing the company well below conventional industry benchmarks and establishing a new standard in sustainable steel manufacturing.
O-Next®
Beyond its environmental credentials, O-Next® delivers on the technical excellence expected by today’s industrial players. It offers high-performance tubular solutions across multiple applications, energy, mechanical engineering, pressure systems, infrastructure, and petrochemicals, while ensuring full traceability of its carbon footprint. This transparency is not just a value-added feature; it is a core principle that enables customers to make informed decisions and integrate truly sustainable steel into their operations.
The production model behind O-Next® reinforces this commitment. We utilize recycled scrap steel as input material and relies on low-carbon energy sources across the supply chain. Emissions are minimized at every stage of production and transportation, and all data is backed by transparent reporting, giving customers the information they need to reduce indirect emissions and meet internal decarbonization targets.
The impact we're already making
Through low-emission products like O-Next®, thyssenkrupp Materials Services has successfully reduced more than 75,000 tonnes of CO₂ (Scope 1 and 2) within its own operations.
We have built a fully traceable and responsible production system:
-
We use recycled scrap steel as input
-
We power our production with low-carbon energy
-
We minimize emissions across the entire supply chain
-
We provide transparent emissions reporting per ton of steel
This allows our customers to make informed decisions, reduce indirect emissions, and support a transition to a greener economy.
Making sustainable steel available across europe
Thanks to our partnership, customers across Europe can now access a broad range of CO₂-reduced steel tube solutions, including:
-
Cold-drawn precision tubes
-
Hydraulic line tubes
-
Hot-rolled tubes in C-grades
-
High-alloy and stainless steel tubes
All manufactured with drastically lower CO₂ emissions, and with the same reliability and strength that define our products.
We enable engineers, purchasing departments, and industrial project leaders to meet their technical needs while aligning with the highest sustainability standards.
Our shared commitment to 2030 and beyond
This partnership is rooted in a long-term vision. Thyssenkrupp has set ambitious climate goals, aiming to reduce its greenhouse gas emissions by 89% by 2030. Tubos Reunidos Group, for our part, continues to invest in energy innovation, product transparency, and digitalized processes to push the limits of ultra-low-emission steel production. Together, the two companies are forging a new path for the steel industry: one that aligns climate responsibility with industrial performance and ensures that sustainability is no longer a compromise, but a competitive advantage.
